President - Annie Homsy
Annie joins the organization as it's current President. When not at school, she is an analyst at a downtown private equity firm. She came to GWB to help improve awareness, foster a community of professionals and empower women in the workplace. Annie graduated from DePaul Undergrad with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Arabic. During and after college, she pursued a career in the arts as an Opera singer. She worked hard, and with passion, however, the Great Recession took its toll and she switched to Finance. Her dream is to one day have her own firm, and potentially run for high political office. Currently, Annie is in the middle of obtaining her MBA with a duel concentration in Business Strategy and Game Theory as well as Entrepreneurship. 

Annie is a polyglot, and published author, animal rescuer, and world traveler who wants to take her experiences and promote leaders in industry as well as female awareness for corporate America.


VP of Technology & Social Media - Laura Durfee

Laura Durfee joins GWB as the VP of Social Media.  She is currently the Manager of Technical Talent Acquisition for a software company and she is passionate about promoting women in the workplace.  Laura graduated from DePaul with an undergraduate degree in International Studies and French.  She is pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Management Information Systems.  Laura loves any opportunity to network with other women in technology.  In her free time she enjoys exploring Chicago neighborhoods with her husband and sheepdog puppy.


VP of Membership & Administration - Wajiha Azher

Wajiha ­­­­Azher joins GWB as the V.P. of Membership and Administration to support career-driven

women secure their professional dreams. In her own personal efforts to rise to upper-management,

she graduated from Benedictine University with a BBA in Management and Psychology with a

concentration in Human Resources. With a passion to manage a business’s greatest asset - its

People - she found herself in various roles within Human Resources. After graduation, she began

her career as an intern at Brookfield Zoo and then transitioned to local bank as a Talent Recruiter.

And now, she works at a Fortune 500 company that has provided her with opportunities to grow and

explore various fields within Human Resources. Currently as the Compensation Analyst, Wajiha

supports global compensation projects, a position where she is able to interact with and learn from

international partners. She aims to couple this experience with academic knowledge from her

courses at Kellstadt to position herself as a strategic Human Resources leader.

As V.P. of Membership & Administration, Wajiha aims to provide GWB members with an organization that will help them achieve their professional goals whether that means opening the glass door or breaking through the glass ceiling. 


VP of Events and Volunteering - Ania Zabrzewska
Ania joins GWB as the VP of Events Planning. She works in commercial real estate lender. Career-driven, she is pursuing Master’s Degree in Real Estate from Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
She likes to travel, dance, play piano, network. She is active physically, last year she biked from London to Paris in 3 days.
In her free time she likes to explore the city with its diverse neighborhoods and trying out new cuisines. She is on the mission to visit all 77 little neighborhoods that Chicago is comprised of.
Ania is all about equality, empowerment, diversity and collaboration and giving back.


​VP of Events and Volunteering - Crystal Pan

Crystal Joins the organization as VP of Events and Volunteering. She is currently a full time student at Kellstadt Graduate School of Business pursuing Masters degree in Human Resources.  She is also working as an Orientation International Peer Advisor in ISS office at school. She is passionate about helping international students who, like her, want get more involved in DePaul and Chicago. This is also the reason that she came to GWB, to help international students and all the students at DePaul who would like to become a successful and professional businessman. 
Her dream is to become a HR specialist and finally run her own HR consulting company. In her spare time, she likes to see movies, read fiction, climb mountains, and watch sports games especially basketball.


VP of Finance - Wenwen Tang

Wenwen Tang joins GWB as the V.P of Finance. She is an accounting graduate student with a diverse background. Wenwen grew up in China and then came to Chicago for a new life adventure. She is excited about elevating professional business women and making new friends with GWB. She is responsible for budget statement, for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, expense are within budget and fiscal practices are followed.
Wenwen has myriad of interests, which may range from accounting and photography to any kinds of spicy food.
